Purpose: This study explores the process by which everyday environmental issues come to be recognized as disaster risks and lead to the development of practice-centered thinking through the experiences of university freshmen participating in a living lab project on climate crisis response. Method: A living lab project was conducted with five freshmen from College A, a vocational college located in Gyeonggi Province, and the research data were analyzed using thematic analysis. Result: First, participants underwent a cognitive shift, reframing everyday environmental issues as structural risks linked to the climate crisis. Second, they expanded their practice-centered thinking by reframing the climate crisis as a challenge they could address in their daily lives. Third, they experienced the complexity of disaster response by recognizing the gap between planning and implementation during the project process. Fourth, by linking the climate crisis to personal moral responsibility, they developed a sense of accountability and a commitment to sustained action. Conclusion: This study suggests that the living lab model serves as an educational platform that reinterprets the climate crisis from a disaster perspective and strengthens practice-centered response competencies. It holds educational significance in that it presents a practical model for community-based disaster response education that combines practice and reflection.
연구목적: 본 연구는 대학 신입생의 기후위기 대응 리빙랩 참여 경험을 통해 일상적 환경문제가 재난 위험으로 인식되고, 이를 바탕으로 실천적 사고가 형성되는 과정을 탐색하는 데 목적이 있다. 연구방법: 경기도 소재 A전문대학 신입생 5명을 대상으로 리빙랩 프로젝트를 실시하였으며, 수집된 자료는 주제분석법에 따라 분석하였다. 연구결과: 첫째, 참여자들은 일상적 환경문제를 기후위기라는 구조적 재난 위험으로 재인식하는 인지적 전환을 경험하였다. 둘째, 기후위기를 생활 속에서 대응 가능한 과제로 재구성하며 실천적 사고를 확장하였다. 셋째, 실행 과정에서 계획과 실제의 간극을 경험하며 재난 대응의 복합성을 체감하였다. 넷째, 기후위기를 개인의 도덕적 책임과 연결하며 지속적 실천 의지를 형성하였다. 결론: 본 연구는 리빙랩 모델이 기후위기를 재난적 관점에서 재해석하고, 실천 중심 대응 역량을 강화하는 교육적 플랫폼임을 시사한다. 이는 실천과 성찰이 결합된 생활 기반 재난 대응 교육의 실질적 모델을 제시하였다는 점에서 교육적 의의가 있다.
