Purpose: This study aims to empirically examine the effect of repeated basic OSH refresher training on improving safety consciousness among manufacturing workers. Previous studies have mainly focused on the effects of one-time training, with limited empirical validation of repeated and continuous training. Method: From September 2024 to May 2025, a survey was conducted with 2,000 partner-company workers at a manufacturing firm (H). Safety consciousness was measured using a 10-item, 5-point Likert scale consisting of safety rule compliance (5 items) and safety attitudes (5 items). Reliability was confirmed with Cronbach’s α=.947. Multiple regression analysis was employed to examine the effects of training frequency (1×, 2×, 3× sessions). Result: Compared with one-time training, two sessions (B=0.184, p=0.015) and three sessions (B=0.238, p=0.004) significantly improved safety consciousness, confirming a dose–response relationship. The effects of sex and age were only marginal. Conclusion: Repeated refresher training significantly improves workers’ safety consciousness, supporting the institutionalization of periodic and participatory training models. Given the limitation of a single-company sample, future research should employ multi-site longitudinal designs.
