Purpose: This study explored the applicability of a VR-based simulator for inspection training of mechanical fire protection systems and analyzed learners’ practical performance, diagnostic assessment results, immersion, satisfaction, and experiential factors. Methods: Participants received pre-action sprinkler system inspection training and were evaluated through practical and diagnostic assessments. A VR experience survey was also conducted to examine sensory, behavioral, emotional, immersion, satisfaction, and physical factors. Group differences and correlations were statistically analyzed. Results: No statistically significant difference was found between groups in practical performance. Diagnostic assessment scores showed a significant positive correlation with practical performance scores. The VR experience survey indicated high immersion and satisfaction, particularly in presence and autonomy, and a positive trend between immersion and satisfaction. Visual acuity and corrective device use partially affected the VR experience. Conclusion: VR-based training provided positive learner experiences and may serve as a complementary educational tool alongside traditional practical training in mechanical fire protection system inspection education.
연구목적: 본 연구는 기계식 소방설비 점검 교육에서 VR 기반 시뮬레이터의 적용 가능성을 검토하고, 학습자의 실습 수행도, 진단평가 결과, 몰입도, 만족도 및 경험 요인을 분석하였다. 연구방법: 준비작동식 스프링클러설비 점검 교육에 참여한 학습자를 대상으로 실습 수행평가와 진단평가를 실시하였으며, VR 경험 설문을 통해 감각적·행동적·정서적 요인, 몰입도, 만족도 및 신체적 요인을 조사하였다. 또한 집단 간 차이와 평가 항목 간 상관관계를 통계적으로 분석하였다. 연구결과: 실습 수행평가에서는 집단 간 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았으나, 진단평가 점수와 실습 수행평가 점수 사이에는 유의한 양의 상관관계가 확인되었다. VR 경험 평가에서는 몰입도와 만족도가 높게 나타났으며, 특히 존재감과 자율성 항목에서 높은 평가가 확인되었다. 또한 VR 몰입도와 만족도 사이에는 긍정적인 경향이 관찰되었고, 시력 및 교정기기 사용 여부는 VR 경험에 부분적으로 영향을 미쳤다. 결론: VR 기반 교육은 학습자의 몰입도와 만족도 측면에서 긍정적인 경험을 제공하였으며, 기계식 소방설비 점검 교육에서 전통적인 실습 교육을 보완하는 교육 도구로 활용될 수 있다.
