Purpose: This study aims to analyze the damage impact radius on LPG filling stations in Wildland-Urban Interface with Petroleum (WUI-P) areas during large-scale wildfires and propose measures to protect residents from potential explosions. The objective includes establishing appropriate safety measures and evacuation plans by simulating both an Alternative Scenario and a Worst Case Scenario. Method: The research employed the ALOHA software to simulate the potential impact on LPG filling stations in the Gangwon Yeongdong region, which frequently experiences large wildfires. The simulation results indicate that, under the Alternative Scenario (50 tons of propane leakage), the LEL (Lower Explosive Limit) impact distance extends to 1.6 km, with the Overpressure impact reaching 532 meters, potentially causing minor human injuries and structural damage. Under the Worst Case Scenario (100 tons of propane leakage), the LEL impact distance extends to 2.6 km, and the Overpressure impact reaches 962 meters, posing a higher risk of fatal human injuries and structural collapse. Result and Conclusion: Large wildfires in WUI-P areas significantly increase the risk of explosions at LPG facilities, potentially resulting in extensive damage. Comprehensive safety measures such as firebreak installation, fire detection system enhancement, and evacuation planning are essential to mitigate these risks.
연구목적: 본 연구는 WUI-P 지역에서 대형 산불 발생 시 LPG 충전소에 미치는 피해 영향 거리를 분석하고, 잠재적 폭발로부터 주민을 보호하기 위한 대책을 제시하는 것을 목표로 한다. Alternative 시나리오와 Worst Case 시나리오를 통해 적절한 안전 대책과 대피 계획을 수립하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구방법: 연구방법은 대형 산불이 자주 발생하는 강원도 영동 지역에 위치한 LPG 충전소를 대상으로 ALOHA 프로그램을 이용해 시뮬레이션을 진행하였다. 연구결과: 그 결과 시뮬레이션에 따르면 Alternative 시나리오(50톤 프로판 누출)에서는 LEL 피해영향거리가 1.6km, Overpressure 피해영향거리가 532m로 나타났다. 이로 인해 경미한 인명 피해와 건물 손상이 예상되었다. Worst 시나리오(100톤 프로판 누출)에서는 LEL 피해영향거리가 2.6km, Overpressure 피해영향거리는 962m로 확장되어 치명적인 인명 피해와 구조물 붕괴 가능성이 높아졌다. 결론: WUI-P 지역의 대형 산불은 LPG 시설에 폭발 위험을 가중시키며, 큰 피해를 초래할 수 있다. 방화선 설정, 화재 감지 시스템 강화, 대피 계획 수립 등의 안전 대책이 필요하다.
