Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the impact of disaster reduction activities on turnover intention through social capital among employees of small and medium-sized enterprises. Methods: An online survey was conducted targeting 235 employees of small and medium-sized enterprises with 300 or fewer regular employees, and exploratory factor analysis, correlation analysis, simple regression analysis, and hierarchical regression analysis were performed using SPSS 29. Results: BCMs had a negative effect on the turnover intention of SME workers, and social capital had a positive effect. In addition, social capital had a negative effect on the turnover intention of SME workers, and social capital was found to have a mediating effect in the relationship between disaster reduction activities and turnover intention. Conclusion: This suggests that establishing BCMS and strengthening social capital in small and medium-sized enterprises are important factors in reducing the intention to change jobs among small and medium-sized enterprise employees.
