Purpose: This study analyzes the aging rate of fire-fighting vehicle in Korea and examines structural variations by vehicle type, region, and year. Method: Using data from the 2024 Self-Evaluation Results Report and the 2025 Statistical Yearbook of the National Fire Agency, aging rates were disaggregated to enable longitudinal and cross-sectional comparison. Result and Conclusion: The national aging rate increased from 2.2% in 2022 to 4.3% in 2023 and surged to 16.4% in 2024. This sharp escalation cannot be explained solely by chronological deterioration but reflects structural constraints in policy alignment, budget allocation, and life-cycle management. Significant regional disparities were identified, associated with differences in fiscal capacity, administrative priorities, and regional characteristics. Substantial heterogeneity was also observed across vehicle types. Special-purpose vehicles showed amplified aging rates due to small fleet sizes and cohort-based procurement cycles, while high acquisition costs contributed to delayed replacement. These findings underscore the need for a data-driven, lifecycle-based fleet renewal strategy to improve fiscal efficiency and ensure sustainable fire service readiness.
